دولت هند از توئیتر خواسته تا ۲۱ توئیت انتقادی از شیوه کنترل همه گیری کووید۱۹ در این کشور را حذف کند و در همین راستا به قانون استناد کرده است.
به گزارش خبرگزاری مهر به نقل از رویترز، دولت هند از توئیتر خواسته تا تعدادی از پیام‌های انتقادی از شیوه کنترل شیوع کووید ۱۹ در این کشور را حذف کند. این در حالی است که برخی از این توییت ها توسط قانونگذاران محلی این کشور منتشر شده‌اند و تعداد موارد ابتلاء به بیماری در این کشور به نقطه بحرانی رسیده است.
سخنگوی این شبکه اجتماعی اعلام کرد پس از ثبت درخواست قانونی دولت هند، برخی از این توئیت ها ممنوع شده است.
همچنین توئیتر فاش کرده دولت هند دستوری اضطراری برای سانسور توئیت ها صادر کرده است. در درخواست دولت هند که در ۲۳ آوریل ثبت شده به ۲۱ توییت اشاره شده است. برخی از این توییت ها به یک قانونگذار محلی به نام روانت ردی و برخی دیگر به یک فیلمساز به نام آویناش داس تعلق دارند.
در این درخواست به «قانون فناوری اطلاعات ۲۰۰۰»(Information Technology Act ۲۰۰۰) استناد شده است. سخنگوی توئیتر در بیانیه‌ای در این باره نوشته است: هنگامی که یک درخواست قانونی دریافت می‌کنیم، آن را با توجه به قوانین توئیتر و همچنین قوانین محلی بررسی می‌کنیم. اگر محتوا خلاق قوانین توئیتر باشد، از پلتفرم حذف می‌شود. اگر مشخص شود محتوای مذکور ناقض قوانین محلی است اما برخلاف قوانین شبکه اجتماعی نیست، دسترسی به آن فقط در هند ممنوع می‌شود.
همچنین این شبکه اجتماعی به طور مستقیم درباره ممنوعیت محتوا به صاحبان حساب‌های کاربری اطلاع رسانی کرده است.
این در حالی است که تک کرانچ در گزارشی اشاره می‌کند توئیتر تنها شبکه اجتماعی نیست که چنین درخواستی از سوی دولت هند دریافت کرده است.
